We’re securing the future of abortion care in Boulder and beyond.
Our Beginning
After the Boulder Abortion Clinic closed in April 2025, a group of former staff – doctors, nurses, patient care staff, and the business manager, formed the RISE Collective. Opened in October 2025, it provides all-trimester abortion care, including later-term procedures that are critical and life-saving, making it one of only five facilities in the country offering this level of care. The RISE Collective is organized as an LLC, the most secure legal structure to prevent interference from federal agencies.
Another former staff member has gathered volunteers to launch the non-profit Boulder Collective, which is purchasing and outfitting a building for critical reproductive health care. The building will house the RISE Collective and provide safe, secure space for other reproductive healthcare providers.
The Boulder Collective Charter
The Boulder Collective is organized as a Colorado based 501(c)(3) non-profit to facilitate charitable contributions toward three critical needs:
To provide secure, long-term leases for reproductive healthcare, eliminating the risk of landlord-initiated termination. The building will be customized to meet each clinic lease partner’s needs.
Use lease proceeds to build the Access Forever Fund, which provides financial assistance to patients who need later-term abortions but cannot afford the procedure.
Establish the Providers Forever Fund to train future medical professionals in providing abortion care, ensuring access continues for generations to come.

Progress So Far
The Boulder Collective has seated its inaugural board (as of August 8, 2025), has approved articles of incorporation and bylaws, has developed a strategic plan and capital fundraising plan, has established its IT platform (Google for Non-Profits, Quickbooks, monday.com etc.) and has approved a suite of financial and governance policies. Things are moving quickly on the institution-building work. We are also developing an Advisory Council with expertise in finance/investing, philanthropy, non-profit law, accounting and public relations
We are currently under contract to buy a property and have raised $1.8 million toward the $2.45 million purchase of the building. We are raising funds for an additional $2 million for building renovation and seed capital for the Access Forever Fund and the Providers Forever Fund. The lease revenue from this building will go to these perpetual funds.
The building we are buying has a unique combination of workable location, ability to make it safe and secure against violence toward the patients, staff and property, ability to configure into a modern medical clinic and affordability, and offers room to expand. It is zoned for medical purposes and ready to be turned into a suite of clinics.
